Denise Stewart

CEO, Founder

I have loved being part of the Arizona community for the past 30+ years. During this time I endured the frustrating struggle with inadequate and inconsistent behavioral care provided in our state. So, now after more than a decade of working in the mental health industry in multiple different faucets and  having the support and respect of my family and colleagues, I have opened The Wellness Tree where we offer integrated care to each and every patient on a consistent basis. It is my personal goal to facilitate a positive and caring environment to our community for all your mental healthcare needs.

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor who graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2023. I am originally from Texas, but I lived in Arizona for about 2 years before moving back to Texas where I still enjoy working with Arizona residents towards positive mental health via telehealth sessions. I have been working in the mental health field for 3 years primarily in outpatient therapeutic services dealing with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I enjoy working with all ages and gender identities but primarily enjoy working with adolescents and young adults. The interventions that I primarily use are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy to work with my clients on gaining a better insight into their mental diagnoses with a couple of movie and tv show references thrown in there to increase comfort, peace, and safety within the counseling sessions. On my off time, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Asher, and crocheting while I watch movies, TV shows, and sports as well as spend time with my family. I hope to bring a sense of friendliness and comfort to the sessions and enjoy working with clients on feeling that sense of peace in all environments and situations in their lives.
